Joel Thorpe
Joel Thorpe is an aid worker and former diplomat who has spent the last 15 years working for research organizations, NGOs and government on humanitarian emergency and recovery programs across fragile and conflict affected states in the Middle East, Asia and the Pacific. As Team Leader for the ACAPS Yemen Analysis Hub from 2018 to 2021, he researched the impact of the conflict on Yemen’s economy, supply chains and social services, environmental and natural disaster risks, the humanitarian data landscape, and the impact of counter terror legislation on humanitarian needs.
