These Terms of Use govern the use, reproduction, and sharing of all publications and materials produced by the Sana’a Center for Strategic Studies (“the Center”). By accessing or using our website or publications, you agree to comply with these terms.

1. Scope of Materials

These Terms apply to all publications, articles, reports, policy briefs, maps, photographs, graphics, audio, video, and any other content made available by the Center (collectively, “Materials”).

2. Language of Publication and Translations

• The Center publishes most of its Materials in English and Arabic.
• The Center’s own English and Arabic versions of publications are the only official translations. In some cases, the English version may be published earlier than the Arabic. If you are interested in publishing an unofficial translation of an English publication in Arabic before an official translation is released, contact the Center for prior permission.
• Users must rely on the Center’s official English and Arabic texts when citing or reproducing our work.
• For translations into other languages, prior written permission from the Center is required. Permission may be granted on condition that:
  • The translation faithfully reflects the original meaning and analysis.
  • No modifications are made to the original meaning of the content.
  • The following acknowledgment is included:
• “This is an unofficial translation of a Sana’a Center for Strategic Studies publication. The original version in [English/Arabic], titled [‘Title in original language’], is available at [website link].”
• The Center reserves the right to request the removal of any unofficial translation that it deems inaccurate or misleading.

3. Use of Maps, Images, and Visuals

• Maps, photographs, and graphics are part of the Center’s Materials and may not be altered, cropped, or used out of context.
• They may not be reused or reproduced without prior written permission.
• All uses must credit the Center in accordance with Section 6 below.

4. Use of Audio and Video Materials

• Audio and video recordings produced by the Center are protected under these Terms.
• They may be shared for non-commercial, educational, and research purposes, provided they remain unaltered and are accompanied by full attribution to the Center.
• Excerpts may not be edited, overdubbed, or repurposed in a manner that distorts or misrepresents the original meaning or the Center’s work.
• Broadcast, distribution, or commercial use of audio/video materials requires prior written permission from the Center.

5. Permitted Uses

You may:

• Share and cite the Center’s Materials for non-commercial, educational, and research purposes.
• Reproduce excerpts, provided they are not altered, misrepresented, or taken out of context.

You may not:

• Alter titles, modify analysis, or change the structure of the Materials.
• Repackage or publish the Center’s Materials under another organization’s name.
• Use the Center’s Materials for commercial purposes without prior written consent.

6. Acknowledgment and Citation

When quoting or reproducing any part of the Center’s Materials, proper acknowledgment is required. The citation should include:

• Author(s), title,
• Sana’a Center for Strategic Studies, publication date, and
• A direct link to the original publication on the Center’s website.

7. Intellectual Property

All Materials are protected by copyright. Copyright remains with the Center unless otherwise indicated.

8. Amendments

The Center reserves the right to update these Terms of Use at any time. Changes will be posted on this page and will apply immediately upon publication.
